VIROGA, Stephanie; LOPEZ, Maynés and TAMOSIUNAS, Gustavo. Gastrointestinal drugs safey in pregnancy. Arch. Med Int [online]. 2013, vol.35, n.2, pp.49-54. ISSN 0250-3816.
ABSTRACT: Arch Med Interna 2013 - 35(2):49-54 Pregnant women are considered a risk population in terms of the use of drugs. The incidence of congenital defects in the general population is 2-4%, and less than 1% may be attributed to drugs. The issue is that most drugs have an undetermined risk, given the limitations of evidence during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The use of gastrointestinal drugs is very widespread in the general population, as well as during pregnancy. The paper reviews the fetal/neonatal safety of antiemetics, antacids, proton pump inhibitors, H2 histamine receptor antagonists and drugs used in the therapy of intestinal inflammatory disease.
