Abstract

Reactive arthritis belongs to the group of spondyloarthropaties; it is a delayed immunomediated complication of frequent infections that involves the joints, as well as full-blown systemic manifestations. Although its course is typically benign, it can also have a chronic and aggressive course. The paper includes the description of a case of Ureaplasma urealyticum- induced reactive arthritis and an update of the theoretical aspects on the topic and its most controversial issues
