Abstract

VARALDI, Giannina  and  AYALA, Santiago. RIESGO Y SEGURIDAD ENANESTESIA FUERA DE SALA DE OPERACIONES. Anest Analg Reanim [online]. 2015, vol.28, n.2, pp.5-5. ISSN 0255-8122.

The advance in the technology with new less invasive techniques, diagnostic, therapeutic and palliative procedures, created the necessity to perform the anesthesia in remote locations. The anesthesiology is responsible for creating a system with the materials and anesthetic care issues to achieve the most safety environment for the patient. Respiratory adverse events as respiratory insufficiency or ventilation difficulty are the most common adverse events with more injury degree in those areas. The frequency of complications and de rate of mortality is twice in relation to the observed in procedures performed in the operating room. Basic monitoring does not differ from the anesthetic monitoring from the operating room including all ASA standards. This review article analyses the risks, and the needs for the staff, physical plant, and materials, in order to improve the safety for the patient.

Keywords : safety; anesthesia; risk; sedation; outside of operating room.
