This paper includes various aspects of the swallowing process: anatomy, physiology and development. We hereby describe the swallowing evaluation methods used by Speech and Audiology Therapists. We define the patients’ pathologies and/or conditions that may require a specific approach. Finally, we include the clinical manifestations of swallowing disorders in newborns, infants and children and the general characteristics of speech and audiology therapy.
