It was considered condition in need of PC (INPC) those included in the ACT clasification, and probably in need of PC (PINPC) to newborns: severe preterms, with hipoxia-ischemia or postresucitated without sequelae at discharge. Results: 3,6% (114/3.157) (IC95% 2,95-4,25) of children discharged from AE were INPC or PINPC. They were: 26% in moderate care (MC), 35% in pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), 39% in neonatal unit (NU). Medium age: 1 year (1 day-18 years). More frequent conditions INPC: oncologic in MC, neurologic in PICU and genetic in UN. Among the PINPC prevailed prematurity. Medium hospitalization length: 11,5 days. At discharge 15% (17/114) had prothesis or medical devices. 11% (13/114) of the chidren included died, 10% in MC, 15% in PICU and 9% in UN. Conclusions: this is the first communication related with the epidemiologic features of children in need of PC from a private institution of the country. 3.6% of the children discharged from the AE in a year were in need or probably in need of PC.
