Abstract

APEZTEGUIA, Lucía  and  GIACHETTO, Gustavo. Ectima gangrenoso y osteoartritis por Pseudomonas aeruginosa en un paciente previamente sano. Arch. Pediatr. Urug. [online]. 2013, vol.84, n.2, pp.127-131. ISSN 1688-1249.

Summary  Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections generally occur in patients with underlying contditions, and rarely in previously healthy children. We describe the case of a previously healthy 2-month-old infant whith serious Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection who presented to an emergency department with skin lesions of ecthyma gangrenosum. The recognition of this lesions allows to adequate antibiotic treatment to this organism susceptibility. In the presence of a Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection, an evaluation must be done to detect possible immunodeficiencies.
