Abstract

URIA, María et al. Infección osteoarticular por Kingella kingae en niños: Descripción de casos clínicos. Arch. Pediatr. Urug. [online]. 2012, vol.83, n.4, pp.262-265. ISSN 1688-1249.

Summary    Kingella kingae es a coco-bacillus that colonizes the upper respiratory tract in children under 5 years. It ocationally causes invasive infections with special affinity  for bones and joints. The infection could be usually undiagnosed becase its clinical course is often mild, the laboratory tests are normal or slightly elevated and the germ isolation is difficult. The isolation of Kingella kingae in two children with osteo-articular infection on a one-year interval  in La Asociación Española and the abscence of cases notified in Uruguay makes this communication necessary. We carry out a review
