Abstract

Primary sternal osteomyelitis is a very rare disease in children. A healthy twelve-year old girl was hospitalized with a history of pain, acute inflammatory swelling at the sternum area and fever. The laboratory exams and bacteriological culture diagnosed Primary sternal osteomyelitis. The etiological agent was meticillin sensible Staphylococcus aureus. The evolution was satisfactory.
