Hereby we present the case of a 13-year-old boy who, suffering from secondary epilepsy, was receiving an irregular treatement with carbamazepine. At the moment he arrived at our department, several hypothesis concerning his diagnosis were evaluated. The blood analysis showed high levels of carbamazepine and after the patient had regained consciousness he claimed that he had taken the medicine intentionally. Treatment was based on life support measures and activated charcoal showing optimal response.
