The invasive diseases caused by the group B streptococcus, represent a threat for neonates. The application of preventive measures has a singular impact in its incidence. In the present article five cases of group B streptococcus sepsis and meningitis are informed. They were registered in a 9 month period in the same location (Lavalleja), four cases had a fatal evolution. Multiple variants are analyzed and co-related whit other authors findings. The measurers adopted to avoid forward cases are featured, as well as their impact.
