MARQUEZ, Matías; OLIVERA, Jéssica y FERRANDO-CASTAGNETTO, Federico. The best of ACC Congress 2024. Rev.Urug.Cardiol. [online]. 2024, vol.39, n.1, e403. Epub 01-Dic-2024. ISSN 0797-0048. https://doi.org/10.29277/cardio.39.1.13.
The annual meeting of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) was held from April 6.th to 8.th, 2024. The long-awaited event was held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Hundreds of educational sessions were held there and the main results of current clinical research in 11 areas of interest were presented as “learning pathways”. The scientific sessions were extensive and took up all the time during the three days of the Congress, with oral presentations, e-posters and oral posters. Among the research of high quality and valuable contribution to our clinical practice, we selected some of them, including five large trials and a smaller-scale observational experience that applied artificial intelligence. We summarize the most important findings of:
• Beta-blockers after myocardial infarction and preserved ejection fraction: REDUCE AMI TRIAL.
• Transcatheter or surgical treatment of aortic-valve stenosis: DEDICATE.
• Empagliflozin after acute myocardial infarction: EMPACT MI.
• Ticagrelor alone versus ticagrelor plus aspirin from month 1 to month 12 after percutaneous coronary intervention in patients with acute coronary syndromes: ULTIMATE-DAPT.
• Cluster analysis based on machine learning identifies patient phenotypes at risk of atrial arrhythmia recurrence after catheter ablation in paroxystic atrial fibrillation.
Palabras clave : REDUCE AMI TRIAL; DEDICATE; EMPACT MI TRIAL; ULTIMATE-DAPT; ATRIAL ARRHYTHMIA RECURRENCE.
