Abstract

In the present controversy, the authors analize the available evidence on the etiological investigation of dilated cardiomyopathy, highlighting the importance of this diagnostic with preventive, therapeutic and prognostic implications. It is argue in the first chapter, about the direct indication of coronary angiography, clearly based, in patient`s characteristics, available evidence and possibility of revascularization. In the second chapter, the author defends the indication of previous studies, doing an interesting analysis of each of them, their specificity and sensivity, and the most suitable to detect viability.
