Summary We report the case of a 39 year-old-woman with heavy smoking as a cardiovascular risk factor, who presented with an anterolateral acute myocardial infarction Killip Kimball I, at 40 minutes of onset. Emotional stress induced by watching a football game is proposed as a likely trigger of the acute event. We analyze the incidence of acute coronary syndromes triggered by emotional stress, particularly in football matches, and present a review of bibliography.
