Abstract

BAZZINO, OSCAR  and  MANANA, PABLO. Estrategia para el control de ritmo de la fibrilación auricular en el escenario prehospitalario. Rev.Urug.Cardiol. [online]. 2010, vol.25, n.1, pp.11-16. ISSN 1688-0420.

SUMMARY Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia in those assisted in an emergency department, a condition that is associated with greater burden of morbidity and a good proportion of health spending. There are two treatment strategies, rate control or rhythm control, both comparable in terms of complications in the short and long term. However, there is evidence that favors rhythm control. This paper presents the experience of a pre-hospital care service in controlling rhythm of selected AF cases with oral propafenone.

Keywords : ATRIAL FIBRILATION; PREHOSPITAL CARE; ARRHYTHMIAS, CARDIAC; HEART RATE.
