Summary We present a case of chronic exposure to psychological and physical violence among peers within the school context. The case was diagnosed after a cruel aggression by some of the patients’ schoolmates which caused sharp pencil wounds in the face and resulted in esthetic damage and post-traumatic stress disorder. This case reflects a failure of the health care system in terms of the prevention, identification and approach of these situations and leads us to call for reflection on the issue and implement strategies for inter-institutional approach that focuses on prevention, responding to current changes in the health care model.
