Abstract

TARIGO, Alejandro  and  VILLAR, Álvaro. Tercerventriculocisternostomía por vía endoscópica. Rev. Méd. Urug. [online]. 2003, vol.19, n.1, pp.71-77. ISSN 1688-0390.

Summary The complications associated with ventricular surgeries and the new imaging procedures led to find alternatives in treating hydrocephalus. Endoscopic third ventricle cisternotomy is an effective procedure to treat certain types of hydrocephalus such as those due to aqueductal stenosis or by compression of the ventricular system due to tumours of the posterior fossa. It is a fast, safe and low-cost technique that produces a new circulation of thecerebrospinal fluid without prosthesis. The aim of this study was to analyze indications, techniques, a brief clinical report, result and complications of the third ventricle cisternotomy.

Keywords : HIDROCEFALO [cirugía]; VENTRICULOSTOMIA [métodos]; TERCER VENTRICULO [cirugía]; DERIVACIONES DEL LIQUIDO CEFALORRAQUIDEO [métodos]; ENDOSCOPIA [métodos].
