Abstract

PETIT DE MURAT, Facundo. The joy of life.: Testimony as an opening towards the articulation between trauma, Government and memory. Antropol. soc. cult. Urug. [online]. 2015, vol.13, pp.105-116. ISSN 1510-3846.

This article stands for the articulation of four key concepts to think about the construction of memory and justice of the last Argentinian military dictatorship: testimony, trauma, State and memory. Starting from the definition of these concepts, the analysis focuses on the testimony of Mario Villani, a survivor of the last military dictatorship in Argentina, from both the syntagmatic axis, as a narration, and its paradigmatic aspect, articulating the context of production of the testimony with policies that the different Governments have maintained around memory and justice. The aim of the article is to analyze the contributions and limitations that theories of trauma establish in order to examine the constructs of collective and historical memories.

Keywords : testimony; trauma; State; collective memory.
