ROSSI, Leonardo. Political ecology of hunger: From Plantacionocene to Argentinian anarcho-capitalism. Rev. Cien. Soc. [online]. 2025, vol.38, n.57, e219. Epub 01-Dic-2025. ISSN 0797-5538. https://doi.org/10.26489/rvs.v38i57.6.
Supported on the political ecology of the South, the following work constructs an understanding of hunger as a systemic problem within capitalism with differential effects according to geography and class, among other variables. Based on a historical review and emblematic cases of primitive accumulation such as the conquest of America, the British enclosures, and the colonial regime in India, trace a connection between the material and political-ideological production of hunger as a social metabolic rift. With this frame, the current state of agriculture and food is addressed from a global view to the Argentinian case, which is now immersed in anarcho-capitalist narratives. Finally, some reflections discuss short-term views regarding the political approach to hunger.
Palabras clave : social metabolism; famines; communal feed.
