Resumen

FLORIT, Paula  y  ALESINA, Lorena. Mediated exploitation of domestic agricultural production units. Indirect subsumption in Uruguay’s horticulture. Rev. Cien. Soc. [online]. 2024, vol.37, n.55, e307.  Epub 01-Dic-2024. ISSN 0797-5538.  https://doi.org/10.26489/rvs.v37i55.9.

The global food crisis showed the relevance of food production in countries for access to nutrients and safe products for the population. Within this framework, in Uruguay the production of fruits and vegetables is mainly carried out in reproductive units agricultural production (UDPA), oriented to the domestic market. The article focuses on the conditions of indirect subsumption of UDPAs to capital, in a context of shrinkage of hortifruitculture, with ongoing institutional and commercial changes and with a self-declaration of crisis and limits to the survival of the sector. Through a mixed methodology and systematizing antecedents, elements that identify in the commercialization processes of exploitation mediated in the horticulture of the country are accounted for.

Palabras clave : indirect subsumption; hortifruitculture; trade.
