LOPEZ CASTRO, Natalia y LIAUDAT, María Dolores. Agricultural production and environment. The perspective of agricultural cities in the province of Buenos Aires (Argentina). Rev. Cien. Soc. [online]. 2024, vol.37, n.55, e305. Epub 01-Dic-2024. ISSN 0797-5538. https://doi.org/10.26489/rvs.v37i55.7.
This article analyses the opinions about agricultural production and its environmental consequences among the population of towns and intermediate cities in the province of Buenos Aires (Argentina). Based on data from two online surveys, we study the views on the need to use agrochemicals for production, the polluting nature of agricultural activity and the actions of environmental groups that denounce the dominant production model consequences. The possible influence of the agribusiness public discourse and the links with the agricultural sector on these positions are also studied. It is concluded that the consensus around the agribusiness discourse shows certain limitations and possible critical positioning nuclei emerge, even among people directly linked to production.
