Abstract

LIBERATORI, Marina  and  RIZO, Ana Valeria. Travels and anthropological movements. Reflective analysis about ethnography and field work. Rev. Cien. Soc. [online]. 2021, vol.34, n.49, pp.237-260.  Epub Dec 01, 2021. ISSN 0797-5538.  https://doi.org/10.26489/rvs.v34i49.10.

In this paper we propose to contribute to the discussions on ethnography, field work and the idea of the travel as topics related to anthropology. From the reflective analysis of two research works, we ask ourselves about the construction of the researcher's role and the relationships established with the natives. Also we reflect on the way in which both field works can be considered as a trip in at least two directions. On the one hand, the movements that the researchers made to “reach the natives”; on the other, the internal movements that field work supposes to the anthropologist to transform data extracted from social situations into scientific knowledge.

Keywords : fieldwork; ethnography; native perspective.
