Abstract

GARCIA ORMAZA, Jon. Educating in prevention. Let´s talk about suicide. Rev. Cien. Soc. [online]. 2020, vol.33, n.46, pp.67-77.  Epub June 01, 2020. ISSN 0797-5538.  https://doi.org/10.26489/rvs.v33i46.4.

Suicide is a public health problem but there is still a tendency to silence its incidence, risk factors and repercussions. Suicide in children, although less frequent, exists, and its approach requires a reflection on the relevance of introducing the concepts of death and suicide in this population. The author defends the introduction of these aspects within a resilience-oriented education, given the preventive effect that promotion of health and learning of coping skills can have on vulnerable children.

Keywords : suicide; childhood; prevention; culture.
