The survey was performed by the Social Studies of Population Institute (idespo) of the National University of Costa Rica, in October 2013, to identify the general perceptions of the Costa Rican population about the expectations of the country. The paper concludes the existence of a significant relationship between socioeconomic status, age of the persons and their perception of the future. However, in general, people have a negative perception of the future and see a little chance that this will improve.
