Abstract

AROCENA, Felipe  and  AGUIAR, Sebastián. Three innovative laws in Uruguay: abortion, same-sex marriage and marijuana regulation. Rev. Cienc. Soc. [online]. 2017, vol.30, n.40, pp.43-62. ISSN 0797-5538.

Uruguay shocked the world in 2013 with three laws passed in just over a year: same-sex marriage, decriminalization of abortion, and regulation of marijuana. In this work we will develop the content of these proposals, and explore some of the major causes related with their approval at this historical moment of the country. Finally the article discusses the virtues and problems of the respective implementations
