Abstract

RIOS GONZALEZ, Ángela. Timing  and determinants of the fall in educational risk: : pisa 2006-2011 cohort  in Uruguay. Rev. Cienc. Soc. [online]. 2014, vol.27, n.35, pp.109-136. ISSN 0797-5538.

This paper analyzes the impact of social inequalities associated risks of origin and life course on intensity and timing of occurrence of a set of academic events defined here as “educational risk”. The paper is organized from a description and subsequent analysis of the intensity and timing of occurrence of an event of educational risk and its determinants, for a cohort of Uruguayan students who were tested in 2006 by the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA, for its acronym in English), when they were in tenth grade enrollment (first year of the second cycle of Secondary Education). Longitudinal analysis methodology was employed through story of event history analysis of educational risk, both descriptively (using survival analysis) as explanatory (a model of discrete time logistic regression)

Keywords : Educational Risk; upper secondary education; educational trajectories; event history analysis.
