Abstract

RODRIGUEZ, Santiago Andrés. Perceptions of socioeconomic inequality: an exploratory study for the Argentine case. Rev. Cienc. Soc. [online]. 2014, vol.27, n.34, pp.93-118. ISSN 0797-5538.

In order to understand the processes of production and reproduction of social inequalities it is required to give an account of the social representations that exist in a particular society. Specifically, the perceptions of socioeconomic inequality could have an impact on attitudes of tolerance and even legitimize inequality situations. This paper has 4 sections: i) We describe the theoretical approach and the predominant hypothesis around the perception of socioeconomic inequality, ii) In the methodological strategy we present the data source, the variables and the methods used, iii) In the third section we focus on the analysis of the data and, iv) We conclude with some final reflections.
