The Journal of the Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de la República, is an academic, arbitrated and continuous publication that aims to contribute to the development of legal science and social sciences, promoting critical and plural analysis on relevant topics of the different areas of Law.

As of 2019, our Journal adopted the practice known as continuous content publishing.

The main objective is to accelerate the process of communication of the research and thus contribute to its immediate availability for reading and citation.

The central aspect is that the articles are published online in their final form as soon as they have been evaluated, corrected and edited. We are convinced that this modality will favor the prompt availability of the approved article and will provide a better service to readers and authors, assuring the latter that their accepted article will be made available as quickly as possible.

The origins of the current Journal of the Facultad de Derecho date back to the last quarter of the 19th century. From 1932, during the dean of Dr. Emilio Frugoni and under the rule of the University Organic Law of 1908, the Journal of the Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Sociales was published with some regularity. In the year 1991, following the formation of the Facultad de Ciencias Sociales. The Faculty changes its name to Facultad de Derecho, which determines the change of denomination of our journal that, from that year onwards, is called Revista de la Facultad de Derecho.
