ABOUT THIS JORNAL
|The Revista de Ciencias Sociales
is a peer review academic publication biannual, that publishes original
research articles in social sciences, priority in sociology. It seeks
for innovative, methodological and theoretical development, as well as
an original empirical evidence on issues of national, regional and
international interest related to these disciplines.
The Revista de Ciencias Sociales is published every six months (January to June and July to December) by the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of the Republic of Uruguay.
It is heir to the Journal of Social Sciences that appeared from 1971 to 1973. With the return of democracy in 1985, it began its Second Age, with the name of Social Science Journal. It began to be a peer reviewed journal in 1986 and went on to have external evaluation in 2000. In 2014 the Journal began its Third Age, in which it is proposed to deepen the contribution to academic excellence and the corresponding indexing process.
The Revista de Ciencias Sociales has a printed and an online version of open access, and is aimed at scholars, researchers and professionals in the disciplines of sociology and other social sciences.
It has a section of research papers and other of reviews and essays as well as non-refereed contributions of interest to academics and the discipline.
