'Lingüística' is the peer-reviewed journal of the Asociación de Lingüística y Filología de América Latina (ALFAL), an international association that brings together specialists in the fields of Linguistics and Philology, with a focus in Latin American literatures, cultures and languages -namely Spanish, Portuguese and indigenous languages.

It is indexed in DOAJ, Latindex Catalogue 2.0, SciELO and Scopus.

It is published semiannually.

News 2018: LINGÜÍSTICA AWARDED BY ELSEVIER

Receives the Excellence Award ELSEVIER-Uruguay 2018.

The official magazine of the Association, Linguistics, won the prestigious award given by Elsevier Publishing House, together with its SCOPUS base, whose objective is to recognize the academic production of excellence. According to the organizers "the winners' evaluation metrics [were based] on the SCOPUS / SCiVal tools". The ANII (Uruguayan Innovation and Research Agency) adheres to the event, as it considers it "of interest" The award ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 11, at 8:00 p.m. at the Radisson Victoria Plaza Hotel, Montevideo. The award will be received by the Director-Editor of the Lingüística magazine, Dr. Adolfo Elizaincín.

The award encourages and commits ALFAL to continue working on the path of excellence in the specific disciplinary field.
