ABOUT THE JOURNAL:

Since its creation, Humanidades: revista de la Universidad de Montevideo has been a scientific and interdisciplinary publication of Philosophy, History and Literature, which, since its second period starting in 2017, has been edited biannually (in June and December). The texts sent to its two main sections -Studies and Articles- are linked to these areas of knowledge. Likewise, it is encouraged the publication of contents that make evident the relationship between these disciplines and their connection with other humanistic and social areas such as: Art, Education and Linguistics.

The Studies section presents a monographic theme approved by the Editorial Board: this may come through the initiative of the Associate Editor, through an open call or attend to a proposal originated in the University Departments. The Articles section, on the other hand, may be aligned with the Studies section or be independent to it as per the Associate Editor’s judgment. The Reviews section is dedicated to the critical assessment of any of the bibliographic novelties that come to the attention of the journal. The texts published in Humanidades journal are always original and unpublished.

The journal accepts scientific collaborations from a variety of national and foreign centers and all texts are published in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese.

Humanidades is an academic journal targeted at a specialized audience and its main objective is to constitute an open forum in which the different disciplines converse with each other to shed some light on and provide new knowledge. The members of the journal and their collaborators are driven by the conviction that "Humanity is what gives reason for our existence and justification to all utility", as the editorial of its first issue has pointed out.

Humanidades journal provides immediate and free access to all the contents of this electronic edition, under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Articles can be shared and adapted if the following criteria is met:

1) Authorship and the original source of their publication (journal, editorial and URL of the article) are cited.

2) The existence and specifications of this license of use are mentioned.

3) Articles are not used for commercial purposes.

For the June issue, originals are accepted until the previous 30th of September; whilst for the December issue, until the previous 31^st of March.
